Francis John Pavlu

Francis John Pavlu
April 2nd, 1932 ~ February 23, 2021

Francis John Pavlu was born April 2nd, 1932 on the farm Southeast of Okeene to Frank and Hazel (Hendricks) Pavlu and passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the age of 88.

He was a resident of the Okeene community for his entire life where he was a farmer and rancher as well as owning his own trucking company and traveling across the U.S. for 20-30 years. Francis attended St. Mary’s Catholic school and then graduated from Okeene High school in 1951. After graduation, Francis was inducted into the Army. He enjoyed bull riding in his younger years and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He spent much of his time raising quarter horses and border collies, as well as numerous head of cattle.

He was married to Virginia Roundtree on July 27, 1965; she passed in 1999. He remarried on February 14, 2001 to Georgia Felder, who passed in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother, Robert J. Pavlu, and one sister, Betty Pavlu.

He is survived by:

2 Nieces………………………. Pam Spaeth of Pauls Valley, OK and Angela Culbreath and husband Scott of Noble, OK.

1 great niece……………….. Chelsea Culbreath.

6 stepchildren……………… Loyd Felder, Lawrence Felder, Teresa Edmond, Rose Wilczek, Pat Wallace, and Bill Felder.

As well as numerous other relatives and friends.

The Rosary for Francis Pavlu will be held Monday, March 1st, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Wilkinson Mortuary in Okeene. Graveside services to follow, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Okeene, with Father Jarek Topolewski officiating and Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Social distancing and masks are required.
