Gary Don McClellan was born
May 31, 1957 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Nina Muriel and Alvie Ray McClellan. He
passed away June 10, 2011 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years and
9 days.
Gary moved with his parents to Sayre, Oklahoma in 1963 where he graduated from
Sayre High School in 1975. He was married to Davida Sue VanMeter at Wheeler,
Texas on December 31, 1973 and they lived in Sayre before moving to Tennessee in
November of 1975 and later Pennsylvania where Gary worked in the oilfield. They
returned to Sayre in 1977 to make their home. Gary and Davida owned and operated
"The Pizza Shop" for a number of years before Gary began working for Jewett
Scott Trucking as a Transportation Coordinator until ill health forced his
retirement. Gary was an avid motorcycle rider and loved riding with Davida on
their trips to New Mexico. Gary's world revolved around his grandchildren and he
had given each a special name.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his Wife, Davida, 2 Daughters, Kourtney Gifford, Sayre, OK,
Kristel Horner and husband, Charles, Woodward, OK; 1 Son, Ty McClellan and
fiance', Sheyenne Scott, Sayre, OK; 2 Brothers, Albert McClellan, Wheeler, TX
and Kenneth McClellan, Tahlequah, OK; 7 Grandchildren, Kyden, Alexia, Kamryn,
Lillianna, Augustus, Samuel, and Sarah; Adopted Son, Justin Harrell, Sayre, OK;
Special Sister, Carol Miles, Sayre, OK and a host of other relatives and
friends.
Service:
Services held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Sayre First Baptist Church
officiated by Gary Baird with Brad Whinery giving a Eulogy. Burial at Ural
Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
