Ruth moved with her family to western Oklahoma as a child. She graduated from Texola High School in 1943 and later married Carlos Nidiffer at Texola on April 3, 1944. They lived in Borger, Texas for a short time but always made Texola their home. Ruth was employed for many years with Puckett's Food Store where she retired as the Manager. She also served as a Director for the First American Bank in Erick.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Panhandle, Texas but formerly was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Texola, Oklahoma for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, James Bret
Prather, 1 brother, Bill Hunt, and a sister, Nell Taylor.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Aides at Meredith House and the Interim Hospice Nurses and Aides.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Tommye Beck and husband, Larry, Pampa, TX, Gimmye Rushing and husband, Kelly, Pampa, TX and Jerrye Prather and husband, James, Panhandle, TX; 7 grandchildren, Tessa Meaker, Gayla Cates, Chad Prather, Brian Beck, Brandi Rabel, Jennifer Jones, Valerie Rushing; 13 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Jerry Heald and wife, Marilyn, Penn Valley, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Texola or the First Baptist Church of Panhandle, Texas - Youth Building Fund.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 20 from 9 am to 9 pm and the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 pm at Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Services will be held November 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Texola officiated by Bro. Charlie Floyd and Norman Rushing. Burial will be at Texola Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
