Funeral services for Arnold Gene Thomas will be conducted Friday,
November 15, 2002 from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel of Elk City at
2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon,
Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin
Funeral Home of Elk City.
Gene served his country in the U.S. Army and after his discharge was
married to Mary Hocker on October 15, 1948 in Canadian, Texas. Gene
worked in several occupations but was mainly an employee of the John
Deere Company and has also farmed for some 20 years. He was a
member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hacker Thomas of the Elk City home.
Four children, Sue Salmon and husband Glen of Ponca City, Oklahoma,
William Joe Thomas and wife, Marie of McDonald, Georgia, Marion
Thomas of Elk City, Oklahoma and Jackie Garcia and husband, Vince of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one dsister, Jonetta Murphy of Midland,
Texas, five grandchildren, and one great granddaughter and a host
of other relatives and friends.
