Funeral services for Thomas Jefferson McEntire, pioneer farmer and rancher of Grimes, who died Sunday, June 20, 1960 of a heart attack, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at Sunny Point with Rev. J.R. Simmons officiating.
Born October 1, 1889 at Decatur, Texas. Mr. McEntire came to western Oklahoma with his parents when a small boy and settled near Foss.
Later he moved to his present home in the Grimes community.
He was married to Monnie Satterfield at Cordell in 1916. He was converted and joined the Baptist church when a young man.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Nobles, Erick and Miss Lola McEntire, Sayre; five brothers, Audrey of Retrop, Ford of Grimes, Frank of Oklahoma City and Albert and Garvill of Sayre.
Committal was in the Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
