Sye Earnest Lane was born December 29, 1915 in Erick, OK to racie and George Lane and passed away April 12, 1993 in the Great Plains Regional Medical Cenetery at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 13 days.
Sye lived for several years in Peoria, IL, and worked for the Caterpillar Tractor Co. He later moved to Broger, TX, and worked for the Phillips Petroleum Co. Prior to moving to Elk City in 1952, he lived in Clinton, OK for a short tiem. He was a member of the Rock Creek Baptist Church in Broger, TX. Sye enjoyed the Rodeo and working with rodeo horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 grandaughter. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 1993 in the Savage-Whinery Chapel with Rev. Henry Fletcher, officiating. Burial will follow in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, OK under the cirection of Savage-Whinery Funeral Service.
Survivors include 5 sons, Larry Lane of Elk City, Dale Lane of Bessie, Danny Lane of Chickasha, David Lane of Elk City and Clyde Lane of Elk City. One stepson, Ronnie Lawson of Elk City. Also 4 daughters, Nelda Bennett of Chickasha, Vicki Nicks of Clinton, Mary Annette Wilson and Lona Faye both of Burns Flat. One step-daughter, Janice Hal of Elk City.
The mother of his children, June Self, of Elk City, 22 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
