Funeral services for Stella Mae Kiener will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Chaapel with Marvin D. Nelson, officiating. Burial will be in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Mae Kiener was born May 15, 1903 in the New Hope Community, Oklahoma Territory to Fannie Maude and John Preston Spell. She died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 in Hensley Nursing Home in Sayre at the age of 98.
Mae attended school at New Hope and married Walter Elmer Kiener at the Beckham County Courthouse at Sayre on May 17, 1920. They lived north of Sayre to make their home. She was a charter member of the Berlin Saddle Club, and was active in the Berlin Quilting Club, the Berlin EHC, the Berlin United Methodist Church, UMW, Goodtime Kitchen Band, Eastern Star AARP and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, J.B. Kiener; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson, Karl Kiener.
Survivors include three daughters, Velma White of Houston, Texas, Betty Colvin of Ingram, Texas; and Sue Burden and husband J.J. of Edmond; two sons, Dewitt Kiener and wife, Joy of Sayre, and Frank Kiener and wife, Kenlyn of Green Lake, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
