Mary Ann Kelley Cheyenne Star Submitted by: Wanda Purcell
Mrs. Mary Ann Kelley died Saturday, September 7, 1968 in the Cheyenne Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Monday, September 9, 1968 at 3 p.m. in the Reydon community building with Robert Greene officiating.
Born February 15, 1881 in Golmer County, Georgia she married William L. Kelley who preceded her in death. They lived in the Grimes and Sweetwater communities since early statehood.
Survivors are seven daughters, Mrs. J.E. Keith, Erick; Mrs. B.E. Clift, Reydon; Mrs. Fred Harmon, Sweetwater; Mrs. Jack Childress, El Centro, California; Mrs. Arhtur Barnes, Dumas, Texas; Mrs. Jewel Couch, Demmitt, Texas; Mrs. Houstin McIntire, Sunray Texas; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Birdie Lee Kelley; two sons, Oad Kelley, Sweetwater; Eugene Kelley, Friona, Texas; one brother, Walter Gentry, Grandview, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Lura Hyde, Reseca, Georgia; 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchilden; 6 great great grandchildren.
Pall bearers were: Jim Yell, Aubrey Keith, Benny Couch, Bobby Kelley, Kenneth Barnes, Freddy McIntrie, Stevie Kelley.
Interment was in the Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
