Jim W. Keel was born October 4, 1923 in Kingmill, Texas to Emma Lou and Joe Mirrett Keel. He passed away November 12, 2001 in Intergris Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years 1 month and 19 days.
Jim graduated from Pampa High School in 1953. He continued to live in Pampa where he worked for Celanese Chemical Corporaation. Jim owned and operated Keel Construction Company and later was a superintendent for Plains Builders until 1991. He was married to Velma Jean Moseley at Velma's home on March 16, 1991. They made their home north of Sayre and he began a construction company. Keel Builders, while farming and ranching. He was a member of the Sayre First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Velma of the home; one daughter, Donna Lynn Keel of Austin, TX; one son, Jimmy Keel of Little Rock, AR; one brother, Joe Keel of Nocoma, TX; one sister, Shirley Holder of Nocona, TX; two grandsons, Terry Howell of Austin, TX and Aaron Howell of West Carrollton, Ohio; three great grandchildren, Ashley Kaye Howell, Taylor Nicole Howell and Mikayla Marie Howell and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at l:30 p.m. at Sayre First Baptist Church, officiated by Tom Cooksey. Burial followed at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
