Funeral services for J.M. Flynn will be conducted Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from the Martin Funeral Home Chapel of Elk City with Rev. Dan Pulver officiating. Internment will follow in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Jewel Monroe Flynn was born November 10, 1914 at Ashland, Oklahoma to William C. and Ollie Riggin Flynn and passed away Sunday May, 18, 2002 at the age of 87.
Mr. Flynn started his education at Ashland near McAlester, Oklahoma and at the age of 10 moved to a farm just west of Elk City with his family and 7 years later he met and married Eunice Irene Campbell on January 1, 1939, at New Liberty. They made their home in the Berlin Community where they enjoyed fishing, especially in Colorado, taking care of his cattle and loved the wildlife and outdoors and was known for his kindness to all animals.
He was a longtime member of the Berlin Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, one brother and a grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Flynn of the Berlin home; a son, Preston Flynn and his wife Betty of Weatherford, Texas and a duaghter, Marlene Daugherty and her husband Don of Topeka, Kansas; four grandchildren, Gregory P. Flynn and his wife Tammy of McKinney, Texas, Brent Flynn and his wife Melissa of Richardson, Texas, Alan . Daaughterty and his wqife Cindy of Topeka, Kansas and Sandra L. Shea and her husband Mike of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and five great grandchildren; Connor G. Flynn of McKinney, Texas, Krystal L. Daughterty of Topeka, Kansas, Kyla R. Daugherty of Berryton, Kansas, Maggie R. Shea and Kelly C .Shea of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
