Funeral services for Nelda Davis were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Binyon Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Sims, officiating. Interment was in the Blanchard Cemetery by Binyon Funeral Home of Blanchard.
Nelda was born February 13, 1926 in Corinth, Mississippi to Ada Cartwright Gurley and Raymond Gurley and died Friday, March 9, 2002 in Oklahoma City at the age of 76.
Nelda married Wilburn L. Davis on December 26, 1941 at Cornith, Mississippi. The Davis family moved to Sayre in 1952 from Mississippi.
She served as City Clerk for several years. They moved to Yukon, OK in 1976. She was a member of Yukon First Baptist Church. She worked at her son's Sonic at 1900 South Meridian in Oklahoma City for several years.
She and her husband moved to Blanchard in 1999.
Nelda was a member of the First Baptist Church, Easter Star and served as Worthy Matron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; tow sisters, Edith Davis and Mildred Richard; one grandson, Marty.
Survivors include her husband, W.L. of the home; sons, Gary Davis and Tenia and Eddie Davis and Nell; brother, Delbert Gurley; sisters, Christine Waldrop and Maxine Metrolis; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
