Funeral services for Clella L. Waters Dye will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at Erick First Baptist Church, officiated by Carl Hein and Durward Weatherford. Burial will be at Erick Cemetery under the direction of the Fathree-Albert Funeral Home.
Clella L. Waters Dye was born March 7, 1906 in Bonham, Texas to Matilda I. and Charles Minchey and died March 29, 2002 in the Erick Nursing Center at the age of 96.
Clella moved with her mother to Sayre. They moved to the Delhi Community in 1910 where Clella graduated from high school. She was married to Lawton Arthur Waters at Sayre on January 1, 1928. They lived in Delhi until 1935 when they moved to Erick where Lawton was a farmer and rancher. She married Ben Walter Dye on June 26, 1959 in Panhandle, Texas. They made their home in Erick except for a few years when they lived in McLean, Texas where they managed the Crawford Furniture Store.
She was a member of the Erick First Baptist Church, the Eastern Star for over 75 years and the Mayfield Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one son and one sister.
Survivors include on daughter, Jo Hinchey and husband Lyndel of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Waters of Erick; one sister, Elizabeth Mullendore of Macon, Georgia; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
