Funeral services for Peggy Lou Cupp will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Whinery-Savage Chapel with Todd Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service of Elk City.
Peggy Lou Cupp was born August 13, 1930 in Elk City to Lucy Muriel and Joe Shelton and died Sunday, March 24, 2002, in Leedey Nursing Center at the age of 71.
Peggy attended school in Elk City. She married Norman E. Cupp on April 11, 1949. They moved to Riverside, California in the early 1950s. They later returned to Elk City where Peggy worked at the Pants Factory, Community Hospital and for a number of years she provided day care for children in her home.
She was a member of Elk City United Methodist Church were she had taught preschool classes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Cloyd, Brooks and Rufus and four sisters, Clara Shelton, Alcina Shelton, Jorella Vaught and Ruby Dalton.
Survivors include on daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Randy Winingham of Elk City; four sons, Norman Cupp and wife Sylvia of Broken Arrow, Gene Cupp of Elk City, Danny Cupp and wife Wanda and Jerry Cupp and wife Susie, all of Elk City; a twin sister, Patsy Ruth Thomas of Broken Arrow; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
