Last rites for Eva Myrtle "Sally" Batchelor, Elk City woman, who died at 12 noon Thursday, August 29, 1951 in an Oklahoma City hospital following a brief illness, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Cheyenne. She was born August 6, 1931 in Dennison, Texas and was married to Elmer D. Batchelor May 18, 1951 in Alburquerque, New Mexico.
They moved to Elk City in June where she is a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer D. Batchelor, of Elk City, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Lewis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandparents, Mr. ande Mrs. J.E. Lewis of Dennison, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Bryant Stewart, Albuquerque, New Mexuico, and Misss Opal Lewis of Albuquerque, New Mexico, one brfother, Charles E. Lewis Jr, of the AAF, Ft. Worth, Texas.
W.D. Stewart officiated at the services. Burial was in the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home in charge.
