Winnie Tomlin was born April 27, 1918 in Yeso, Debaca County, New Mexico to Queenie Victoria (Curtis) and Hilry Dorse Aldridge. She passed away January 19, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years, 8 months and 22 days.

She moved with her parents at the age of 5 to the Retrop community where she grew up and attended school. She was married to Major Elmor Tomlin at Dill City, Oklahoma on December 22, 1934. They lived in the Carter and Retrop communities before moving to Pampa, Texas in 1955. She worked at Caldwell's Drive In and Cock of the Walk Diner before owning and operating the Tone Coffee Shop with her sister, Clara Neal. In 1968 they moved to Oklahoma City where she owned and operated Pauline's Ladies Sportswear with her daughter, Darlene. They later moved to Elk City in 1979 to make their home. Winnie's family and church family were her life.

While attending the Purcell Pentecostal Holiness Church she taught Sunday school and was President of the Women's Ministries. Winnie was active in sharing her testimony throughout her Christian life with many other churches. She was currently attending the Elk City First Assembly of God Church and Bethesda Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmor, 1 sister, Clara Jones Neal and 1 brother, Jack Aldridge.

She is survived by her son, Bill Tomlin and wife, Carol, Purcell, OK; 1 daughter, Darlene Higgins and husband, Bill, Elk City, OK; 4 grandchildren, Darla Higgins, Billie Small, Edd Mac Higgins, and Dana Ridling, 8 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Jon Major, Kimberly, Rebel, Whitney, Cogan, Kayley, and Harli, 2 great great grandchildren, Ashton Charlize and Emersyn Leigh, 1 sister, Earlene Holley, Elk City, OK; 1 brother, Mac Aldridge and wife, Gladys, Elk City, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.
