Gloria Anne Thrasher, known as Anne, of Elk City, OK passed away at her home surrounded by family on June 4, 2026 at the age of 79 years and 11 months.


She was born on July 4, 1946 in Elk City to Robert and Mildred Cook, and attended school at Highway and Elk City, where she graduated in 1964. During her life Anne worked as a nurse at the Elk City Community Hospital, cared for plants at the Elk City Plant Farm, and enjoyed her time caring for children at daycare.

Anne filled her free time with ceramics, caring for her garden, enjoying the outdoors while fishing and camping, caring for her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren. A highlight of the year would be hosting an Easter egg hunt for the family. She also served her community as a member of the Elk City Civil Defense and as a Girl Scout Leader. One of her proudest accomplishments was raising her beautiful children.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred; brother, Robert Cook, Jr.; and niece, Janice Lee.


Anne is survived by Robert Thrasher and their children, Terri Fleming and husband Darrell, GiGi Creel and husband Jeff, Kim Barnett and husband Scott, Steven Thrasher and wife Shelly, and Krista Gwartney; grandchildren, Kenia Fleming, Tray Fleming, Mandy and Josh Jackson , Randi and Jason Wynn, Bobbi and Roger Blake, Garrick and Kimberly Poff, Chris Barnett, Samantha and Hunter Warnke, Taylor and Ty Mendez, Bailey and Kyle Gilbert, Sydney Thrasher, Slade Thrasher, Mykel and Ethan Cloyd, Morgan and Jeremy Taylor, and Madison Gwartney; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
