Services for Roger Keith Dixon were held July 29, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Andy Taylor and Daryle Perry. Burial was at the Poarch Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.


Roger Keith Dixon of Elk City was born May 13, 1963 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Rosalyn Gay and Velcie Eston Dixon. He passed away July 27, 2004 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 41 years 2 months and 14 days.


He grew up in Canute and graduated from Canute High School in 1981. He continued his education at Sayre Junior College for 2 years. Roger later moved to the central Texas area where he worked as a millwright. He was married to Connie Olson at Cleburne, TX on November 22, 1986. Roger always worked in the oilfield and found great enjoyment in his work. He and Connie traveled extensively with his job and they moved to Elk City in October of 2003 to make their home.


His father and maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death.


The family requests memorial donations are made to the American Diabetes Association.


Survivors include his wife, Connie of the home; his mother, Rosalyn Hughes of Elk City; 3 brothers, V. Alan Dixon and wife, Sonya of Canute; Tony E. Dixon and wife, Caroline of Burns Flat; Tim W. Dixon and wife of Grandbury, TX; Gina Johnston; one sister, Sheri Plaster and husband, Larry of Elk City; three step-children, Cindy Jones and husband, Larry of Joshua, TX; Cally Lowe and husband, Darrell of League City, TX; Levi Olson and wife, Kathy of Sargent, NE; nine step-grandchildren, Christine and Wiley Jones, Jade and Nicky Campbell, Dusty and Elissa Low, Reo and Zak Olson, Tristan Olson.
