Allie Channell of Wagoner passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001 at the Avondale Cottage at the age of 90.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec 28, 2001 at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with Matt Richardson officiating.
Interment was held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001 at the Poarch Cemetery in Carter, Oklahoma.
Allie was born to George and Martha Jane (Johnson) Simpson on September 24, 1911 in Jesse, Okla.
She was raised at the Whitaker Orphanage in Pryor, Okla. from 1924 to 1932 and then started her schooling in Edmond.
She received her bachelors degree at East Central State in Edmond and her Master Degree at the Oklahoma University.
She had been a member of the Wagoner community since 1971. Allie was a member of the Church of Christ in Wagoner along with the Garden Club, The Rose Club, Retired Teachers Association of Oklahoma and the K.K.I.-Teacher Sorority.
Allie taught six years at the Washita Consolidated Schools and 26 years at the Tuttle Schools. Allie was a lovely woman; she was proud to be a teacher and help others further their education. But most of all Allie1s family was very dear to her.
She is survived by her sister; Jewell Wilson of Wagoner; two nieces, Londa Davis and Sidney Karr both of Wagoner; seven nephews, David Lloyd of Tahlequah, Gary Lloyd of Muskogee, Richard Cartwright of Shawnee, Gary Cartwright of Tahlequah, Larry Cartwright of Cordell, Stanley Channell of Montana and Harvey Channell of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; three great nieces, Andra Fuller of Wagoner, Stacy Figueroa and Allecia Lloyd of Tulsa; six great nephews, Adam Cartwright of Texas, Scotty Cartwright of Colorado, Stephen Lloyd Davis of Tulsa, John Robert Davenport of Alaska, Larry Karr of Broken Arrow and David Matthew Lloyd of Tennessee; one great great nephew, Kale Fuller of Wagoner; and two great great nieces, Julia Anna and Gabby Figueroa.
Memorials in honor of Allie may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
