Estella grew up in Sayre and attended schools at Bulo. At the age of 17, she was married to Billy Jack "Bill" York at Clovis, New Mexico on September 22, 1952. After their marriage Estella worked at Whites Auto Store and Woods Café and raised their children. In 1968 Estella and Bill bought Beck Body Shop and together they owned and operated it serving the people of western Oklahoma. After Bill's passing in 1989, Estella was a staple at the body shop and continued to operate it until its closing in 2010. In 2000 she was named the Oklahoma Owner/Operator of the year by the Oklahoma Wreckers Owner Association, served 12 years on the Sayre City Council and was a cancer survivor for over 15 years. Estella enjoyed traveling to every state except Hawaii, traveling to several European countries, participating in numerous craft shows, reading and playing "games" including Wahoo, attending as many of her grandchildren's activities as possible and being an avid OKC Thunder fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 brothers and sisters and 1 grandson, Christopher Hake.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Lyles, Bullard, TX; 3 sons, Don York and wife, Vicki, El Reno, OK, Russel York and wife, Denice, Sayre, OK and Calvin York and wife, Norma, Sayre, OK; 30 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren on the way; aunt, Curly McAlpin, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
