Obituary for Delbert Robertson
Delbert Robertson was born September 29, 1925 at the family
home north of Sayre, Oklahoma to Della Nora and Virgil Robertson, Sr. and he
lived his entire life in that same house. He passed away September 22, 2015
at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 23 days.
Delbert attended and graduated from New Liberty School. After graduating, he
farmed and ranched on the family home place. He was married to Clenice Joy
Carter at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on June 1, 1951 and they shared 55 wonderful
years together before she passed away. Delbert retired from farming in the early
90's but he continued to ranch. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis
Cardinals and OU Sooner sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 8 brothers and sisters, C. L.
Robertson, Nina Robertson, Dimp Robertson, Vera Gossett, Fern Reed, Virgil
Robertson, Jr. and Gordon Keith Robertson.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Brenda Robertson, Sayre, OK and Laqueta
Draper and husband, Joe, Sayre, OK; 2 grandsons, Jason D. Draper and wife,
Kristin, Lake Charles, LA and Brandon Logan and wife, Angie, Sayre, OK; 4
great grandchildren, Chase Logan, Drake Logan, Andrew Draper and Grace
Draper and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 2:30 pm at
the Lone Oak Cemetery officiated by Brad Maddox and Nick Reed.
