Kenneth Paul Kirtley was born November 29, 1936 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Anna Bell and William Paul Kirtley. He passed away December 20, 2016 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years and 21 days.
He graduated from Sayre High School and attended Sayre Junior College while working at the courthouse as a janitor and drove a school bus. He was married to Betty Lou Hill at Hobart, Oklahoma on June 1, 1956. They lived on the farm in the New Liberty community before moving to Pueblo, Colorado and then back to New Liberty when he began working for the Rock Island Railroad. After Rock Island closed he worked for the Burlington Northern another 20 years until his retirement after 40 years as a conductor and brakeman. He loved working with his cattle and horses.
He was a member of the New Liberty Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister, Inez Larson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; His children, Don Kirtley, Sayre, OK, Steve Kirtley, Sayre, OK, and Rhonda Jolliff and husband, Travis, El Paso, TX; Five grandchildren, Stephanie Smith and husband, Cory, Galena, IL, Billy Kirtley and wife, Christie, Granite, OK, Trevor Harvey, Amarillo, TX, Dalton Kirtley, Sayre, OK, and Amber Kirtley, Amarillo, TX; Two great grandchildren, Francheska Smith, and Macie Kirtley, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
