Dorothy "Dottie" Faye Criswell

Dottie Criswell was born February 9, 1935 in Cushing, Oklahoma Mr. and Mrs. Cockrell. She passed away December 29, 2013 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 20 days. 

Dottie grew up in the Cushing area and attended school in Cushing, Oklahoma. She furthered her education at a trade school in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and that is where she met and was eventually married to Leonard "Lenie" Garry Criswell at Cushing, OK on May 24, 1953. Dottie and Lenie made their home in the Tulsa area until 1995 when they moved to Sayre. Dottie was a homemaker and raised her 2 children in the Tulsa area. She was a member of Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed ceramics, teaching little children in Bible class, caring for her cats and taking walks. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter Pamela Lynn Potter and 1 sister, Louise and brother, Ralph Criswell.

She is survived by her son, Gary Michael Criswell, Thomas, OK; 2 step grandchildren, Levi France, and Carmen France; friends, Helen Markham and husband, Haskell, Sayre, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm January 3, 2014 in the Rose Chapel of Sayre.  Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Sayre. Services are under direction of Rose Chapel.
