Armetta Grace Roby Shinault © The Hammon Advocate 31 Aug 1950 Submitted by: Wanda Purcell Armetta Grace Roby Shinault was born on May 16, 1878 in Clark county, Iowa, to John W. and Nancy Jane Chenoweth Roby.
She was married to W. M. Shinault on February 8, 1899, in Nelson , Nebraska.
The Shinaults were early day pioneers of this area. They moved to Elk City in 1906, where they resided since that time.
Mrs. Shinault was a member of the First Christian church.
She passed away on August 19, 1950, after an illness of several weeks.
Survivors are her husband; five sons, Albert of Ft. Gibson; Jake of Canute; Eldon and Charles of Elk City; and Frank of Wyandotte, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Tom Briggs of Orange, California; and Mrs. M. M. Jones of Hammon; two brothers, Frank and Fred Roby of Oklahoma City; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Mabel Wilma, who died on August 18, 1915.
Services were conducted by Alvin E. Houser in the First Christian church in Elk City on August 21, 1950.
Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma.
