Services for Olen C. Robinson were conducted at the First Baptist church, Elk City, Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Robinson, a city carrier of the Elk City Post Office Department was killed Friday afternoon when struck by an automobile six miles east of Elk City.
Robinson was fixing a flat outside of the pavement, and was bending over the back of the car when he was struck with a 1949 model car - being killed instantly.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Robinson, Robinson was born and reared in Elk City.
Survivors include Mrs. Maxine P. HammockRobinson; a son, Donnie Dean; a daughter, Brenda Kay; his parents; a brother, Orville Robinson of Pueblo, Colorado; as well as numerous friends.
Olen C. Robinson was born March 22, 1909, near Elk City, Oklahoma.
He was reared in the Merritt community where his parents homesteaded.
He attended Merritt schools and graduated with the class of 1927 and attended Southwestern State college at Weatherford one and one-half years.
He was married to Maxine P. Hammock of Hammon, Oklahoma on October 23, 1932 at Sayre, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born, Donnie Dean, age nine years; and Brenda Kay, age five years.
He was a member of the First Baptist church of Elk City, also of the young Men's Bible class of that Sunday School.
At the time of his death he was employed at the Elk City Post Office as a postal clerk.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, July 15, 1951, at the First Baptist church of Elk City, by Rev. Horace L. James and Rev. Harold Flory.
Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of Martin-Hullum Funeral Home.
