Teresa Jean (Christopher) Pickens was born September 6, 1962
in Woodward, Oklahoma to Patricia Ann and Richard Lee Christopher. She passed
away November 6, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years, 2 months.
Jean grew up in Woodward, Oklahoma and Canadian, Texas graduating from Canadian
High School in 1980. After graduation, she worked for the Hemphill County
Hospital and the Canadian Restaurant as a cook. She met and was eventually
married to Warren Bruce Pickens there at Canadian on August 24, 1984. After
their marriage they remained in the Canadian area where Jean and Bruce raised
their family and she was a homemaker. In 2012 they moved to Elk City where they
made their home. Jean loved sports and helped coach her daughter's coach-pitch
team and was a certified baseball umpire. She also loved the University of
Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Texas Rangers. She enjoyed
fishing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends especially
around Halloween and Easter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce, of the home; 2 children, Bruce Pickens,
Jr., Canadian, TX and Jennifer Pickens, Elk City, OK; 1 grandson, Jerry Pickens,
Elk City, OK; 1 brother, Terry Charmasson and wife, Michelle, Victoria, TX; 3
sisters, Becky Wilson and husband, David, Canadian, TX, Cheryl Campbell,
Woodward, OK and Rhonda Gallagher and husband, Monty, Canadian, TX and numerous
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
