Donald Raymond "Don" Nichols

Don Nichols was born July 15, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Alice
Priscilla and Donald Carter Nichols. He passed away September 1, 2015 at
Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years, 1 month and 16 days.
 
Don grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attended Classen High
School. While in high school, Don participated and was on the wrestling
team and also the tennis team. After his graduation in 1976, he
furthered his education at Oklahoma City Community College. Don obtained
employment with a surveying crew, dental lab, and seamless guttering
facility. Don met and was eventually married to Vicki Ann (Funk) Nichols
at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 21, 1986. After their marriage,
they remained in Oklahoma City where they started their family and Don
continued to manage the guttering company. In 1997, they moved to Elk
City and Don worked for Sowders Dental Lab for 16 years until he opened
Don's Dental Lab and continued to own and operate it. Don was also
involved with the cub and boy scouts serving as a committee member,
scout leader, and assistant scout master. Don was able to help his two
sons obtain the highest ranking available in the Boy Scouts, Eagle
Scout. He was also an amateur (HAM) radio operator, and served as an
elder or a deacon of The Westside Church of God (Seventh Day).
 
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Nichols.
 
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of the home; 3 children, Jeremy
Nichols, Matthew Nichols, both of Oklahoma City, OK and Bethany Nichols,
Elk City, OK; his parents, Don and Priscilla Nichols, Elk City, OK; 1
sister, Ruth Heiderich and husband, Kent, Oklahoma City, OK several
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
