Gary Lynn McSperitt passed from this life on October 26, 2020, at the age of 67 years, 11 months, and 29 days in Shamrock, TX. Gary was born October 27, 1952 to his parents Atla and Mildred (Petross) McSperitt in Denver, CO.
 

Gary began his career at an early age in the oilfield where he eventually worked his way up to a consultant. He dedicated his life to the oil and gas industry. He and Elizabeth were married February 14, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV.  Many happy years were spent together at the lake enjoying family, boating and fishing. Gary was known as a true outdoors man.  When not at the lake he was outdoors hunting and gardening. Gary's true love was for his family. His grandchildren held a special loving place in his heart.


Although Gary is no longer with us, his memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include: his wife: Elizabeth of the home, 1 son: Shawn McSperitt of Claremore, OK; 2 daughters: Angela Smith and husband James, of Perkins, OK, Lisa Earnest of Tupelo, MS; 5 brothers: Tim McSperitt and wife Kim, Larry  McSperitt, Junior McSperitt, Terry McSperitt and wife Linda all of Watonga, OK, Rodney and Denise McSperitt of OKC; 1 sister:  Debbie McSperitt of Watonga, OK; 6 grandchildren: Kayla, Taylor, Sean, Jordan, Kahli, Payzlee, 1 great grandchild:  Oaklynn; as well as a host of longtime friends, neighbors and other relatives.
 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Gary Lynn II and son, Gary Lynn III, 2 brothers: Mike and Ronnie McSperitt.
 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, November 2, 2020, at Whinery Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gregg Newton officiating. 

Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held 1:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Whinery Funeral Home, Elk City.
