Rick Long was born August 9, 1958 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Tommie Velma and Kenneth Orville Long. He passed away November 17, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Rick grew up in Dill City where he attended schools. After school he started helping his father on the family farm with their cotton operation. Rick later began his career in the oil field where (he) operated heavy equipment. He was married to Vonna Rae (Waugh) Long at Dill City, Oklahoma on March 8, 1979. Together they made their home in the Dill City area while they raised their family. Rick enjoyed his family, going to the lake, water skiing, fishing, playing practical jokes and pranks, scaring people and riding his motorcycle. Above all Rick loved the Lord and was diligent about reading his Bible daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Robert and Jay Long.
He is survived by his wife, Vonna, of the home; 5 children, Tiffany Long-McDorman and husband, Stony, Whitewright, TX, Kama Helvey, Cordell, OK, Crystal Peck and husband, Jacob, Canute, OK, Callie Williams and husband, Albert, Elk City, OK and Jesse Long, Elk City, OK; 13 grandchildren, Shelbi, Colton, Gracie and Wyatt McDorman, Maddison Dacus, Mason Helvey, Morgan Helvey, Markus Cox, Satcher Peck, Ryker Peck, Joseph Williams, Ruby Williams and Silas Long; 1 great granddaughter, Aaliyah Dacus; 4 brothers and sisters, Carl Long and wife, Kathy Long, Joyce Long, Doug Long and wife, Margene and Dee Anne Wellander and husband, Chris and a host of other relatives and friends.
