Jack Jones, Rt. 2, Cheyenne, died January 25, 1955, in an Elk City Hospital, after an illness of two years. Funeral services were held Thursday, at 230 p.m. in the Baptist church at Elk City, Rev. Louis M. Hancock, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Fairlawn cemetery Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma. Casket bearers were Clifford Jones, Jodie Reece, Monte Reger, Bee Wallace, Clarence Fowler and Truman Farmer. Jack Jones was born April 14, 1908, at Elk City. He attended high school at Elk City. After serving in the Army for ten months, he received a medical discharge. On February 28, 1953, he was married to Mae Slankard at Chickasha, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife of the home address; a step-daughter, Mary Beth Cuthert; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jones of Cheyenne; two brothers, Allen of Cheyenne and Paul A. of Sacramento, California; and one nephew Paul A. Jr., Sacramento.
