Obituary:
Vernon Lee "Ronnie" Huddlen was born December 8, 1968 in
Elk City, Oklahoma to Sally Mae and George Huddlen, Sr. He passed away May 22,
2011 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 42 years, 5 months and 15 days.
Vernon grew up and attended school in Elk City, Oklahoma. After high school
graduation in 1988, he met the love of his life Ida (Villegas) Huddlen. Vernon
and Ida were later married at Sayre, Oklahoma on February 10, 1993. After their
marriage they continued to make Elk City their home. In 1999 he began his career
working for Schlumberger earning his ten year pin in 2010. Vernon was very
active in sports throughout his life including playing football, softball and
running track, but his true love and dream of sports was racing stock cars at
the Elk City Speedway. Vernon was also very devoted to his family, raising 3
children and also 2 nieces and a nephew always considering them his own
children.
He was preceded in death by his father, both sets of grandparents, niece and one
cousin.
He is survived by his wife, Ida, of the home; 6 children, Tobi Timothy Huddlen,
Veronica Leah Huddlen, Sara Breann Huddlen, Shauda Villegas, Sierra Villegas and
Juan Miguel Villegas; 2 mothers, Sally Edmunson and Maria Villegas; father,
Miguel "Pops" Villegas; grandmother, Mary Smith; 5 brothers, George, Travis,
Damian, DeVante, Cliffton; 6 sisters, Elaine, Ella, Tammy, Trena, Treva, Ciara
and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Service:
Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 am at Trinity Fellowship
officiated by Elder Charles Smith. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the
direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
