Deloris Hubbart went to be with her Jesus on September 24,
2015. Service honoring her life will be Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00
a.m. at the Whinery Savage Chapel with graveside services to follow at
Fairlawn Cemetery.
Deloris Geraldine Harris was born January 25, 1931 on the family farm near
Leedey, Oklahoma. She met the love of her life in Wayne Hubbart at Leedey
High School and they married on July 9, 1948. They had a small farm they
operated and continued their education working the farm, playing basketball till graduation.
Wayne's profession was in the oil and gas industry, which led to their home
transitioning from Amarillo, Borger, Fritch and Odessa, Texas and retiring
in Elk City, Oklahoma. Wherever they lived, their home was central to
raising kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Along the way, she
owned and operated "Deloris' Style Shop" in Fritch, Texas and was a member
of the Calvary Baptist Church, and later Crecent Park Baptist Church in
Odessa, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hubbart; mother and father,
Owen and Flossie Harris; and two brothers, Lowell and Gale Harris.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Cessnun, Elk City, OK; a son, Darrell
Hubbart and wife, Susan, Elk City, OK; four grandchildren, Kami Manzelli of
Spring, TX, Becca Faulkner of Alvin, TX, Colby Cessnun of The Grove, TX, and
Teresa Smith of Elk City, OK; and sixteen great grandchildren and a host of
other relatives and friends.
