Virginia "Ginger" Marie Habekott was born November 26, 1950 in Rifle, Colorado to Mary Irene (Sollock) and Merwyn Arthur Tryon. She passed away September 25, 2018 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 30 days.
 

Ginger grew up in Pueblo, Colorado where she attended school. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1968. After graduation she began her family with the addition of Troy, Tracey and later Michelle. In 1971 she moved to Canadian, Texas where she worked as a nurses assistant at Hemphill Country Memorial Hospital. Ginger continued there until moving to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1980 where she was employed with Community Hospital. She received the Susan Powell Scholarship and furthered her nursing career at Western Technology all the while working as a ER trauma nurse. After 19 years she left the emergency room and began working for Dr. DeRocher where she remained for many years. Ginger retired after a lengthy employment as a hospice nurse in 2009. When she wasn't caring for others she enjoyed playing Bingo, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Troy Tryon, and 1 sister, Hyla Carlene Tryon Hayes.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lester Habekott, Elk City, OK; 2 children, Tracey Tryon, Elk City, OK and Michelle Habekott, and life partner, Michael McSperitt, Carter, OK; 3 grandchildren, Shelby Gallagher and husband, D.J., Elk City, OK, Drayton Stinson, Elk City, OK and Brendon Stinson, Thomas, OK; 3 great grandchildren, Caden Stinson, Gavin and Cora Gallagher; 3 sisters, Dovie Seely and husband, Brad, Colorado Springs, CO, Joyce Trontel, Pueblo, CO and Tami Morris and husband, Rick, Georgia; 2 nieces, Shannon Brooks and Jenea Seely and wife, Stephanie, and a special cousin, Arthur Tryon and wife, Diane and a host of other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
