Bronwen Francis was born June 2, 1926 in Ngakawau, New Zeland to Ivor Llewellyn and Olwen Tyler and passed away on July 21, 2019 in Chanute, Kansas at the age of 93 years, 1 month, and 19 days.

Ivor was one of the first pilots in World War I. Bronwen grew up in Ngakawau, New Zeland and attended school at Granity, New Zealand. She was married to Talton Loe Francis at Auckland, New Zealand on July 5, 1944. After Talton's discharge they moved to Homer, Louisiana where she began working for Southern Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator and later in public relations while Talton finished college. They lived in DeRidder, LA, Yuma, AZ and Scottsdale, AZ before moving to Los Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX. Bronwen and Talton moved to Marlow, OK and then to Elk City to make their home. Talton worked as the administrator for Great Plains Regional Medical Center and Bronwen worked along side helping him recruit physicians. She was an active member of the United Fund and was a life member of the Elk City Chamber of Commerce where she was active in the Ambassadors. She was a active member of the Elk City First Baptist Church having served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Choir for a number of years. Bronwen was also a member of the Cultus Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Terry Lane Francis; 4 brothers including her brother, Trefor who was a pilot during World War II that was killed in action and 3 sisters.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Tanya Dunn, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Twoinselle Sierra and husband, Adolfo, Pocatello, Idaho; son, Trefor L. (Joe) Francis and wife, Mary, Humboldt, KS along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.

Services will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Fairlawn Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Whinery
