Mike grew up in Elk City where he attended school and graduated in 1983. After graduation he moved to Oklahoma City where he spent 15 years in automotive garages working on transmissions. In the early 2000's Mike moved back to Elk City where he owned and operated his own shop, Mike's Transmissions. In his spare time Mike enjoyed the University of Oklahoma sporting events, camping, fishing, cooking and grilling as well as spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Fanshier; 2 brothers, Tommy and Jerry Brinkley and 1 sister, Sharon Talbot.
He is survived by his 4 children, Derrick Jackson, Shane Fanshier, Melissa Fanshier and Austin Downey; 8 grandchildren; his father, Arthur Fanshier; 1 brother, Arnold Fanshier; 1 sister, Teresa Mahan and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019, 2:30 PM at Whinery Funeral Service Chapel.
Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
