Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Embery was born on April 13, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles and Marjorie Schlie. She passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 14, 2021 at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 1 day. 


Betsy grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky where she was on the volleyball and basketball team. She was also on the traveling swim team where she excelled the most. She graduated from Mt. St. Joseph High School in Owensboro then went on to college at the University of Louisville. As a young adult Betsy enjoyed playing on an adult volleyball team and coaching little league softball. She met and married the love of her life, Tommie Embery. Tommie and Betsy were trend setters and met through AOL on the internet almost 24 years ago. She married Tommie on January 31, 1997 and they made their home in Roll, Oklahoma. Betsy enjoyed trivia games on tv and embroidery. She was also a beautiful swimmer and had aspirations of working with wood. Betsy loved her family and she enjoyed spending time with them.


She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, John Schlie. 


She is survived by her husband, Tommie of the home, 1 daughter, Angela Espinosa and husband, Robert, Cheyenne, OK, 1 son, Dusty Embery and wife, Chelsea, Norman, OK, 1 brother, Jimmy Schlie and wife, Barbara, Palm Harbor, FL, 2 grandchildren, Isabel and Ivy, along with a host of other family and friends.


Visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Whinery Funeral Service. Elk City.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Whinery Chapel with burial following at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service, Elk City.
