Daryl Dean Dishman was born July 27, 1926 in Douglas, Oklahoma to Phyllis (Hoffman) and Emmett Dishman. He passed away July 16, 2018 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 19 days.
 

Daryl grew up in Douglas, Oklahoma where he attended school and graduated in 1948. After graduation he furthered his education at Oklahoma State University where he received his bachelors degree in business administration. Upon completion he moved to Elk City where he began working for Plains Oil in the business office until he purchased the company in 1983. Daryl reconnected with Barbara Dixon when he returned to Elk City and they were later married on May 21, 1988. They made their home in Elk City and Daryl continued to operate Plains Oil until 1991 when he retired. Although Daryl retired, he continued to fill his time by volunteering at the First Christian Church and the hospital as well as being a member of the Elk City Country Club, Lions Club and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed playing golf whenever the opportunity presented itself.
 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marvin Dishman.
 

He is survived by his wife Barbara, of the home; Ronama Beck and husband, Phillip, Elk City, OK, Judy Musgrave and husband, Ronald, Elk City, OK; grandchildren, Heath and Laura Beck, Luke Beck and wife, Raven, Benjamin Musgrave and wife, Shelly and Jessica Porter; 5 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.


Services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018, 10:00 AM at the Elk City First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ.

Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com.
