Mr. W. A. Byrd, a well known and respected citizen of Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, died Saturday May 26, 1906 of cancer of the stomach, at his home six miles northwest of Elk City.

Mr. Byrd was forty seven years, seven months and eighteen days old.

He was born in Johnson county, Arkansas, October 8, 1858.

He married Miss Florence F. Turner, December 10, 1980.

He was the father of thirteen children and their mother survives him.

He had been sick for six weeks.

Rev. Henson had charge of the funeral services. The body was intered in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, there to rest till the judgement.
