Growing up
Troy moved all around Oklahoma with his family before settling in Elk City.
He met Sandra Loyd and they shared three children, Justin, Crystal and Cody.
Many will remember Troy from the many years he was a cook at the Kettle
before it's closing. He also worked at Flying W Guest Ranch, Home Cooking
Cafe and most recently with his brother Nelson at the Carter Cafe. Troy was
a simple man who loved the simple way of life and would help anyone no
matter who you were or how tired he was. Troy was the perfect example of a
dad, brother, and the absolute best Papaw. Troy will always be remembered as
the man who was always there when you needed him. We often joked with him
that he never knew what "no" was. And that is proven by his grand-daughters.
He always did whatever they wanted. He never told Savannah no and even in
the short time he had with Kennedy she learned that very quickly. Even
though we won't be able to physically see Troy anymore, we know he is always
with us and keeping an eye over us.
Viewing will be at Whinery Funeral Home, located at 403 W. Country Club in Elk City Monday, March 29 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, March 30 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The family will gather after the service to celebrate Troy. INTERMENT FOLLOWINGThis site may be freely linked, but not duplicated in any way without consent.
