Funeral services for Esta Mae Blackmon Beierschmitt were conducted Wednesday, December 15, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church in Elk City, Oklahoma with Rev. Steve Tischendorf officiating. Burial followed in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of ther Martin Funeral Home.
Esta Mae Beirschmitt was born May 28, 1913 in Springs, Oklahoma to Emmanuel and Katherine Sitzmon Slegfried and died Monday, December 13, 1993 at the age of 80.
Her early life was spent in the Weatherford and Corn communities. On February 8, 1929 she was married to James Haskill "Hank" Blackmon at Sayre, Oklahoma. They farmed just south of Elk City and in June of 1965 moved into Elk City. Mr. Blackmon preceded her in death on April 1966. She then married William H. "Bill" Beirschmitt and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Esta Mae moved to Oklahoma City in April of 1988 where she lived since she was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Elk City.
Survivors include two daughters Shirley Bursch of Oklahoma City and Elaine Simon and husband Robert of Elk City; one stepson Billy H. Beiershmitt and wife Irene of Alva, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Elisha Williamson, Robert James Simon, Stephanie Brewer, Jerrod Simon, Chad Simpon, Matt Bursch, Sam Bursch, Angie James an seven great grandchildren; four living step children, Billy Ray Beirschmitt, Linda, Bobby Joe and Jimmy Don Beierschmitt. Besides both husband, she was preceded in death by Andy Bursch, and one step grandson Geary Lee Beirschmitt.
