Hilary and Douglas met in England while he was in the Air Force in 1968. They later married June 14, 1969 in High Wycombe, Bucks, England. They moved around and were stationed in numerous places through the years. They finally settled at Altus Air Force Base in 1982. Douglas retired in 1987 and they remained in Altus until 1992 when they moved to Elk City. Hilary loved to feed her birds, sing at church, read, knit, cross-stitch and loved her cats. Her family and grandchildren were very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 sister, Carole.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Sara Ballard and husband Kirk Atkinson, Panama City Beach, FL, 2 sons, Andrew Ballard, Elmer OK, and Michael Ballard, Elk City, OK, 7 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family requests memorials be made to your local animal shelter in honor of Hilary.
