Caroline Herndon Armstrong was born July 4, 1927 in Elk
City, Oklahoma to Mary Mabel and George Washington Fanshier. She passed away
August 25, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 21
days.
Caroline grew up in the Grandview community until they moved south of Elk City
with her parents. She attended schools in and around the Elk City area and
remained in western Oklahoma all of her life. She married R.F. Armstrong at
Cordell, Oklahoma on November 19, 1992. Together they farmed and raised cattle
while she also enjoyed crocheting and yard work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Roy Herndon and R.F.
Armstrong, 1 daughter, Barbara Garner, 1 granddaughter, Connie Lipe and 9
brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her 3 children, Virginia Jones, Elk City, OK, Damon Herndon
and wife, Evelyn, Elk City, OK and Sally Maddox, Oklahoma City, OK; 9
grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruby Winn, Elk City, OK
and Drucella Fanshier, Elk City, OK; 2 brothers, Arthur Fanshier, Cordell, OK
and Earl Wayne Fanshier, Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.
