JoAnn White was born July 17, 1938 in Phoenix, Arizona to
Opal Margaret and Robert LeRoy Blancett. She passed away January 15, 2016 at
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 28 days.
JoAnn grew up in California and Erick, Oklahoma. She graduated from Erick High
School in 1957. She continued her education at Hill's Business College in
Oklahoma and later moved to Amarillo, Texas where she met Charles White. They
were married at Clovis, New Mexico on April 17, 1961. Charles worked for the US
Department of Agriculture and the family lived in Amarillo and Tyler, Texas. In
1989, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. They later lived in Tyler and Biloxi,
Mississippi and after Charles passed away, JoAnn moved to Elk City with her
daughter, Micki, and her sons. They remained there until moving to Edmond,
Oklahoma in 2011. JoAnn loved to shop and watching Do It Yourself shows on
television. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother to her
family who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sisters, Gloria Sauls
and Delores Sauls.
Survived by her children, Malinda Herskowitz and husband, Mannie, of Dallas,
Texas, Timothy White and wife, Leah, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Micki Smith of
Edmond, OK and Joe White and wife, Michelle, of Elk City, Oklahoma; 8
grandchildren, Courtney Lynas, Stuart Smith, Tyler Smith, Amanda Herskowitz,
Riley White, Jonathan White, Grace White and Elizabeth White; 2 great
grandchildren, Aislyn Bargas and Emma Lynas, and a host of other relatives and
friends.
