Donald Lee Stagg of Erick, OK passed from this life on Monday, August 31, 2020, at his home in Erick at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 28 days. 

Donald was born December 3, 1935, to his parents Harold and Arlis (Smith) Stagg in Sayre, OK. 

Donald served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force as a career Military servant for over 22 years, retiring as a TSgt.  He and his family were stationed many places around the world.  One of the most memorable was Masawa, Japan where many lifelong memories were made.   Donald married the late Carolyn Holland April 30, 1955, in Sayre, OK and were married 60 years until her passing in 2015.  He was a proud graduate of Delhi High School.  Donald and his family resided in the Edmond and Moore area for approximately 15 years while working as a civil servant in the Edmond Post office.

Donald enjoyed his life traveling, RVing and camping.  He loved the outdoors.  He also enjoyed landscaping and having a beautiful yard throughout the year. OU football and listening to rock and roll and country music were other favorite pastimes he enjoyed.


Although Donald is no longer with us, his memory will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include his 1 daughter:  Debbie and husband John Hurlburt of Erick, OK; 1 son:  Ronald Stagg of Erick OK; 2 sisters:  Gaylene Harrison and husband Tom of OKC, Glenda and husband Dwayne West of Erick, OK; 1 sister-in-law:  Mary Stagg of Moore, OK; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.


Preceding Donald in death include his parents, wife of 60 years, 2 brothers:  Harold Dale and Ralph Wayne Stagg.
 

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.

Carolyn Stagg was born May 3, 1938 in Erick, Oklahoma to Thelma and Hollis Holland. She passed away January 31, 2016 at her home in Erick at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 28 days.

Carolyn grew up and attended school at Erick. She was married to Don Stagg at Erick, Oklahoma on April 30, 1955. Don was in the United States Air Force and she later joined him and during his service they lived in San Antonio, Scotland, Italy and Japan. After he retired they lived in Edmond, Oklahoma and Moore, Oklahoma before moving to Erick in 1997 to make their home. Carolyn enjoyed watching television, especially Judge Judy, and cooking for her family. She loved traveling across the county with Don in their motor home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nadine Hinchey.

She is survived by her husband, Don, of the home; her children, Ronald Douglas Stagg of Erick, OK and Debra Ann Hurlburt and husband, John, of Erick, OK; 3 grandchildren, Whitney, Kyle and Justine Hurlburt, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
