Rosa Lee grew up and attended school in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. She
was married to Jerry Francis Sanderson on June 28, 1940 at the
Methodist Church in Erick, Oklahoma. After their marriage they
briefly lived in Erick until they purchased land and moved out to
the farm west of Sayre where they built their house in 1942. They
raised their family on the property and farmed cotton and raised
cattle. Rosa Lee never was employed anywhere but spent her married
life along side her husband farming. After Jerry passed away in 1992
Rosa Lee remained on the farm and continued to enjoy her retirement.
She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family
and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters, Evyln
Marie and Verna Lee, 1 son, Jerry LaVerne, granddaughter, Mandi
Sanderson, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 niece, Lillie Amerson.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Sammy Sanderson and wife, Darlene, Alabama and Tony Sanderson and wife, Susan, Erick, OK, daughter in law, Linda Sanderson, Alamogordo, NM, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; 1 sister, Shirley Mitchell, Erick, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019, 2:00 PM at Texola Baptist Church officiated by Brother Charlie Floyd.
Burial will be at the Erick Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home.
