Andy was born to his parents Thomas and Laura (Peugh) McDowell May 28, 1928, in Erick, OK.
Andy grew up on the family farm with his 7 siblings. Farm life was hard, but times were good. He entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully from April 24, 1948, until January 23, 1950, with an Honorable discharge. In the early years of their life together, Andy and Elsie owned and ran a café on the very same property where they resided finally in Erick, as well as owning other restaurants in other towns. Andy spent many years driving trucks for Wilcox Trucking before starting his own trucking business hauling livestock and grains. He hauled in all the equipment for the Wilhelm Honey Farm when it began to make candles. After retiring from the trucking business, he had a farm outside of Erick where he and Elsie raised cattle.Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Rose Chapel, Sayre.
