Betty Jean (McIntyre) Jefferson was born July 22, 1926 in
Silverton, Texas to William Horace and Lillie McIntyre. She passed away April
13, 2016 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Betty grew up in the Delhi, Oklahoma area where she attended and graduated from
school She was married to W. C. "Jeff" Jefferson at Sayre, Oklahoma on October
5, 1942 and they lived in Texola, Oklahoma. Jeff entered the U.S. Army in 1943
and after his discharge, they moved to Erick, Oklahoma to make their home. Betty
and Jeff owned and operated Jeff's Texaco for 45 years until retiring in 1990.
Betty loved fishing, camping, playing dominoes and crocheting. She attended the
Texola Baptist Church whenever she was able.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Anne Matlock and husband, Harold, of
Amarillo, Texas, Cathy Ingram and husband, Danny, of Borger, Texas; 1 son, Carl
Jefferson and wife, Pam, of Erick, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Randy and
Chad Matlock, Daniel Ingram and Summer Moreno, 8 great grandchildren and a host
of other relatives and friends.
