Carroll D. "Chuck" Hinchey was born April 28, 1934 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma to Alma Viola and Henry Franklin Hinchey. He passed away July 8, 2016 at Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 10 days.
Chuck, as a young boy, moved with his family to Texola and later to Erick where he attended Erick Schools. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 18 and served during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he moved to Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado before settling in Washington state where he found employment working for the Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District measuring and diverting water to the correct orchards. Chuck retired from the Irrigation District in 2000 and moved to Erick, Oklahoma to be closer to his sister. He enjoyed pack mule trips, fishing, riding horses and showing his patriotic spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Kevin Beeler, Pueblo, CO, Scott Hinchey, Phoenix, AZ and Levi Hinchey and wife, Yuki, Renton, WA; 2 daughters, Cherie Harrison, Tyler, TX and Carolyn Brooks and husband, Larry, Navada, MO; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Lacy and husband, Jerry, Lindsay, OK and Glennyss Holland, Erick, OK; a special nephew, Rocky Hinchey, Erick, OK; 2 special great nieces, Alycia and Brooklyn Parker, Weatherford, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:30 am
at Erick First Baptist Church officiated by Lance Whaley. Burial will be at
Erick Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Condolences
