Kristy Lynn Greer was born May 29, 1979 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Karen and Rusty Smith. She was called home Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Erick, Oklahoma at the age of 37 years, 7 months and 20 days.
Kristy grew up at Clear Creek Lake and attended Bray-Doyle High School, graduating in 1997. She attended Red River Technology Center where she received her LPN license. She was later employed with Duncan Regional Hospital and continued her education at the University of Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 2004. While working as an instructor at the technology center, she met Brady Greer and they were later married on December 12, 2008 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After their marriage they moved to Erick, Oklahoma where Kristy began working for Western Oklahoma State College as a nursing instructor, working her way up to the Director of Nursing Education. In 2010 she obtained her Master's degree in Nursing Education from the University of Oklahoma. Kristy enjoyed traveling, vacationing, board games, and gardening, but was most proud to be a wife and mother. She loved nursing and caring for her patients, as well as teaching her Fusion Bible Class at Church. Kristy had great faith in the Lord and, through that Christian faith, was a great inspiration to others.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James "Charlie" Smith, Thelma Marie Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Brady; 2 daughters, Makayla Nichole Miller and Cody Lynn Greer, all of the home; her parents, Rusty and Karen Smith, Marlow, OK; parents-in-law, James and Marianne Greer, Erick, OK; 3 sisters, Mary Chambers and husband, Matt, Bray, OK, Jacy Brady and husband, Chris, College Station, TX and Vicky Smith, Lawton, OK; 2 sisters-in-law, Kelley Greer and Jamie Greer, both of Erick, OK; niece, Callie Chambers, Bray, OK; 2 nephews, Ransom Greer and Maxim McGregor, both of Erick, OK; grandparents, Roy Welch, Anchorage, AK and B.J. and Levada Hines, Duncan, OK and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
