Ricky Del Thompson was born December 21st, 1968 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Owen Otto Thompson, Sr. and Maria Guadalupe (Samarripas). He passed away on Friday, February 27th, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 6 days.


Ricky grew up in Elk City, Oklahoma where he attended school graduating from Elk City High School in 1987. After graduation he found employment in the oil patch at Frank's Tong Service where he spent the majority of his career. Ricky also spent some time hot shotting oil field parts and equipment to rig locations. Throughout his life, Ricky had four daughters that all claim to be the apple of his eye. Rickey enjoyed family reunion at Lake Texoma, gaming at the casino, fishing, boating, cooking breakfast, eating mexican food, going to garage sales and having Tik Tok battles with his grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his father.


Ricky is survived by his 4 daughters, Chelsea Medina and husband, Charlie, Elk City, OK, Janel Spitz and husband, Michael, Elk City, OK, Candy Sockwell and husband, Blake, Tuttle, OK, and Emily Johnson and husband, Kyle, Norman, OK; 7 grandchildren, Bella, Nicholas, Charles, Zoey, Katie, Natalia, Kyle, Jr.; 3 great grandchildren, Finley, Brantley, and Brooklynn; his mother, Lupe Thompson, Roland, OK; 3 sibling, Otto Thompson, Joanna Norton, and Rosa Burns and a host of other relatives and friends.


Memorial donations can be sent to Whinery Funeral Service and Cremation Center to help offset the funeral expenses.
