Longtime resident of Sayre, OK, Vickie Delores Montgomery passed from this life on December 2, 2020 in Sayre, OK, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 4 days.
She was born October 18, 1950 to her parents James (Jim) and Thelma (Ware) Montgomery in Sayre, OK. Vickie attended and graduated from Sayre High School in 1968. She was married to Charles W. Jones on April 6, 1969, of which two daughters were born, Vickie and Charles were married until 1984. Vickie was then married to Oather Merlin Price (Merle) on July 2,1986, and then widowed in 2005. Vickie loved her career as a beautician. She spent many long hours at her shop in the home. She also was an instructor at Aladdin’s Beauty College in Clinton, OK. Vickie enjoyed the outdoors, painting, gardening and restoring furniture as well. Vickie could usually be found outside digging in the dirt and admiring her flowers. In her younger years she was a member of a bowling league and won many pool tournaments in the Sayre area. Vickie had a great love for dancing and enjoyed music and spending time with friends.
Although Vickie is no longer with us, her memory will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include: her 2 daughters: Melissa Jones and son-in-law Peter Porcher of Sayre, OK, Kimberly and son-in-law Melvin Giles of Tennessee; 3 grandsons: Dakota and wife Sierra Foreman of Sayre, OK, Denver Foreman of Elk City, OK, Preston Porcher of Sayre, OK; 2 granddaughters: Raven and Ireland Briscoe of Sayre, OK, as well as a host of wonderful longtime friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother: Jimmy Montgomery; ex-husband Charles W. Jones; and husband Merle Price.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Rose Chapel in Sayre, OK, with Mathew Brooks, Alicia Cox and Melvin Giles officiating.
Interment will be attended by the family at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery.
